Biography
Nicky Wuchinger first performed on stage as a guitarist. He went on to study musical theatre at the Berlin University of the Arts (UdK), where he was a repeat prizewinner at the Bundeswettbewerb Gesang, Germany's national singing competition.
Engagements followed as Link Larkin in Hairspray (Tecklenburg), Rum Tum Tugger in Cats, Cousin Kevin in The Who's Tommy, Raoul in The Phantom of the Opera in Hamburg, and alternating in the title role of the Phantom in Oberhausen. For two years he was lead singer of Disney's Big Band Beat in Tokyo.
Since returning to Germany he has appeared as Nick Hurley in Flashdance, Athos in The Three Musketeers (Sondershausen), Curtis in Sister Act and Diego/Zorro in Zorro (Zwingenberg), as Billy Flynn in Barrie Kosky's production of Chicago at the Komische Oper Berlin, and as Filch in The Threepenny Opera at the Berliner Ensemble. He made his Magdeburg debut in 2021 as Sky Masterson in Guys and Dolls, returning in 2026 as Curly in Oklahoma!
Current and upcoming work includes Kosky's productions of La Cage aux Folles (Jean-Michel) and Fiddler on the Roof (Perchik), and Captain von Trapp in The Sound of Music at Staatstheater Oldenburg from October 2026.
Alongside his stage work he writes and produces his own music as Drac Attack! The debut album brought together drummer John Macaluso (Ark, TNT, Yngwie Malmsteen), bassist Rich Hinks (Annihilator, Aeon Zen) and guitarist Yo Onityan from Tokyo. With guitarist and producer Jean-Marc Perc he released the sci-fi prog album Machines Alive. He is currently writing and producing The Vigil, a double album continuing the Drac Attack! story.
